Barcelona could use wantaway Rafinha as a bargaining chip in their pursuit of Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
The Brazilian midfielder, who is keen for more playing time, wants to leave the Nou Camp and would be interested in a move to the Premier League.
The Gunners are also keen on acquiring a player in Rafinha's mould and his manner of playing does appeal to manager Arsene Wenger.

Barcelona are keen to sign Bellerin, a former academy product of the club, back from Arsenal.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, former academy player Bellerin remains a key target for Barcelona, but it would take a considerable fee to persuade Arsenal to sell.
But the deal could be made more affordable if Barcelona offered Rafinha, valued at around £26million, in part-exchange.
Rafinha, 24, is another product of Barca's academy but started just 14 La Liga matches and one Champions League game in an injury-disrupted 2016-17 season.
